MIGHTY CROWN Capped Composite Decking is a high gloss, luxury, semi solid, capped composite decking with high fade and slip resistance.

Size

Each board is 3.6 Metres long X 138  X 22.5 mm with wood grain effect on one side and smooth on the other.

Colour

Mighty Crown has a very high fade resistance. We have had all the Mighty Crown colours installed in our outdoor display area here for over a year and so far they remain exactly the same colour as they started. 

When it comes to choosing colours please do bear in mind that the colour you see on your screen will depend on your setting so if you are looking for a particular shade then we advise you come and see our displays here in Whitstable or order a sample to check this is the colour you are looking for.

Price & Deliveries

The price displayed here is for one deck board and it includes VAT. The delivery charge of £150 is added onto your total order amount at the check out. For full details and discounts please see our Delivery section.

Quantities

Depending on your design and how it is installed, on average you will need 2 x deck boards per square metre and 12 clips per board.  Your starting side/sides will need a starter clip every 300 mm.

For any exposed sides of your decking area we have a lovely choice of edging to match or contrast your decking. You simply need to measure the total length of exposed edges and divide it by 3.66 and "round up" this will give you the number of edge boards you need.

Installation

Please ensure you follow the Installation Instructions to ensure you enjoy your decking area for many years to come and to be covered under the 10 year warranty,  boards must be installed as the instructions have stated.

Please pay particular attention to the 300 mm joist centres required ( composite decking needs support and full clips at least every 300 mm and at every board end to maintain the integrity of the boards), airflow under the decking area, 6 mm gaps at all board ends, allowing for expansion and contraction and double joists and clips for board end to ends. Of course, if you are using a professional decking installer you will need to make sure they read and follow the instructions too.

Mighty Crown Slip Resistance of the Wood Grain side.

Mighty Crown has been tested for slip resistance on the wood grain side of the board using the Pendulum Test, tested to British Standards BS7976 and resulted in a Pendulum Test Value (PTV) of 37 longitudinal and 46 horizontal. A PTV value of over 36 means there is a low slip potential ( lower than 1 in 1 million ) so Mighty Crown is an excellent choice if slip resistance is a priority.

Please be aware that slip tests are made on clean decking and if your decking has grime, algae, ice or snow sitting on top of it, as with any flooring surface, it will make the area slippery.

Caring for your Decking

Brushing/ hosing your decking with warm soapy water then brushing clean water over and off the decking area,  as and when it needs it,  will not only maintain the area so it continues to look fabulous all year round,  it will maintain the integrity of the boards and keep it slip resistant.
